Biography

Dr. Pranshu Adavadkar is a board-certified sleep medicine physician and pediatrician with more than two decades of clinical experience diagnosing and treating sleep disorders in both children and adults. His clinical work focuses on conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep-related breathing disorders.

Dr. Adavadkar earned his medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College and T.N. Medical College in Mumbai, India. He completed his pediatric residency at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, where he developed a strong interest in sleep medicine after observing the widespread impact of sleep disorders on his patients and their families.

He later completed fellowship training in sleep medicine at the University of Michigan and went on to pursue a career combining clinical practice, research, and medical education. Dr. Adavadkar currently serves as an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Chicago and is involved in training future physicians through the sleep medicine fellowship program.

In addition to caring for patients with sleep disorders, Dr. Adavadkar has a particular interest in improving sleep health through emerging treatment approaches and patient education. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for his contributions to the field.
