Lucky us! To show they are serious about rewarding people for taking their sleep health seriously through healthy actions, the folks at Achievement have decided to make a donation to the ASAA for every person who signs up for their platform!
It takes a huge effort, relying on phone calls, texts, and social media, as well as the big hearts, spontaneous compassion, and the willingness of perfect strangers to unite for the common good, to make something like this happen. We thank each and every one of these AWAKE Angels for their part in this hurricane relief effort. We truly could not do any of this without their energy, vision, and support.
A winner has been chosen for the Sleeptember 2017 Bedhead Selfie portrait challenge. The one tagged with #ASAAbedhead and which grabbed the most likes in social media has won 4 (four) One-Day Park Hopper tickets for Disneyworld theme park! See the winning selfie here!
Congratulations again to xxxxx for the winning shot, and thank you to everyone who participated! We hope you grabbed a few more winks in the month of Sleeptember and the trend toward better sleep continues!
Efforts to research a cure for sleep apnea are ongoing at every level. The challenges include developmental better diagnostic strategies, improving the identification of biomarkers showing higher risk for sleep apnea, and much more research on pediatric sleep apnea to understand why it happens and how we can catch it early and reverse the processes that turn it into a chronic condition.
We recently connected with ASAA Sleep Health Medical Advisory Council member, Robyn Woidtke, MSN, RN, RPSGT, CCSH* and Principal at RVW Clinical Consulting, to chat about the value that nurses can bring to sleep health patients and the sleep medicine community at large.
We are here to help. Our CPAP Assistance Program has been mobilized to provide evacuees with much-needed PAP machines and supplies lost to the hurricanes.
We are also here to offer support through our A.W.A.K.E. groups for those who are struggling with other sleep-related problems, such as post-traumatic stress, aggravated health conditions like pulmonary hypertension (which disrupts sleep), and “painsomnia” caused by injuries sustained while fighting or fleeing Mother Nature in some form or another.
In celebration of Sleeptember, the winning morning bedhead selfie will win a prize: 4 (four) One-Day Park Hopper tickets to the Disneyworld theme park in Orlando. Prize value is $648.00. Read more for details!
Most parents likely agree… a seamless transition from summer break to the fall school schedule can only happen when sleep is made a top priority.
Make no mistake: CPAP struggles are for real!
