Dr. Christian Guilleminault will be celebrated this Saturday, June 3, for his major contributions to the field of sleep medicine at a private event in Boston. Members of the American Sleep Apnea Association will be there to enjoy tributes delivered by several sleep medicine researchers, including Oliviero Bruni, Emmanuel Mignot, Maurice Ohayon, Phyllis Zee, and many others.

Guilleminault is famous for his research on sleep apnea, especially in the pediatrics field, as well as narcolepsy, REM behavior disorder, and drowsy driving. He was also one of the first to identify and classify sleep disorders and lead the field in groundbreaking research when sleep was yet to be considered a medical specialty.
